2/9/08 (Monday)

I am supposing that the SF gals realized today that class never gets easier. A ton of leg stuff (that is because I am working on trouble spots :) ) Calves and biceps...sorry for those who end up partnering with someone with a blue tube...try it one day and you will realize how hard it is to use the blue tube. We also did a boatload of sprints and cardio...just getting ready to go outside girls. So you think you had it hard...Jake ran 2 yep two whole miles today. He asked to do it. So if my 4 year old can run two miles you SF moms can do a 5k race...think about it...he is a 1/3 of your size and his legs are super short compared to yours so GET MOVING.

Jake: 2 miles
Katie: 2 miles with Jake...3 miles with Jake and Max in stroller with dog (puppy Patches) tied to Stroller...my arms and pecs got a real workout steering.
Brian: not home from work but I am sure will do either a P90X video or run on the treadmill.

My cheat today one oreo. Otherwise doing well.

Remember it is heart health month. Moms have great big hearts but what good are they if they aren't healthy hearts. Choose to be healthy, get moving, choose baked not fried and set GOOD examples for your kids.

Blog at you later.

21 to make a habit...one day to undo it all.

Well..the time has come for Jake to start logging his miles for his 1 mile pig. For those of you who don't know....here is what I am talking about. Our flying pig marathon hosts a children's event. The kids are supposed to log 25 miles during the months before the race and then they run 1.2 to make for a complete marathon. Last year my oldest son, who was three at the time did it in about 15 minutes. This was the first of his accomplishments...he went on to run a 5k in 50 minutes and a miler at the end of the summer in 11 minutes. So his logging of miles started yesterday and he did it in 13 minutes...walking only once.

The other thing that happened yesterday is that Brian and I hopefully recommitted to fitness. As most of you know I teach and own a StrollerFit franchise. What you don't know is that I have been in a HUGE funk. I haven't been logging miles for the pig, I haven't been swimming, I can barely get my rearend to the gym to get on the eliptical. I needed a swift kick in the butt and unfortunately I had to get it from my husband. See it is not easy being the one who has to cheer everyone else on..(something that I enjoy) but I kind of wear out for me by the end of the day. So anyway..Brian and I pushed the kids while running yesterday (btw the kids weigh a ton, it was much easier before Max became a bubba). Anyway, we are back on track committed to making it 21 days to keep this habit and hopefully continue on. We will be running the pig, now the only thing is will we be accomplishing a personal best.

I love my Strollerfit gals...i love how they push one another in class. I love how they come out in the snow and ice and rain...but now it is time for me to not make excuses. The same goes for my husband...yep he works at least 60 hours a week but he has at least 45 minutes to dedicate to himself to be a fitter person. So keep checking out the site...it should be an adventure.

In health,

katie
